DuPage Foundation To Give Grants To Non-Profits Amid Coronavirus

The foundation's COVID-19 Response Fund has raised more than $600,000.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — In the midst of the new coronavirus shutdown, the DuPage Foundation is ready to do what it does best: give back to the community. So far, the foundation's COVID-19 Response Fund has raised more than $600,000 to aid local non-profits throughout DuPage County in this time of crisis.

DuPage Foundation Trustee and Grant Committee Chair Megan Shebik said in a statement, "This is a time for all of us in DuPage County to come together to help and support each other. I’ve been deeply impressed by the collaborative efforts I’ve seen to date, and am extremely proud of the speed and deliberateness with which the Foundation has acted to create a program to aid our not-for-profits in addressing this crisis for our community."

The fund's more than half a million dollars in donations came in part from local gifts from the Birck family, the Gustafson Family Fund and the Snodgrass Family Fund. United Way of Illinoi and the Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations also made a $100,000 donation.
