Join us as The American Wind Band presents "Summertime in the USA," an evening of American music on Friday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. at American Legion Park, 4000 Saratoga Avenue in Downers Grove. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music of John Philip Sousa, Louis Armstrong, and Johnny Mercer as well as Dixieland, civil war, and movie favorites. The concert is free and will be held inside the Legion Hall in case of inclement weather.
The American Wind Band, made up of 40 to 50 volunteer musicians from the western suburbs and Chicagoland, plays five free concerts annually in Downers Grove. New members are always welcome and no auditions are required. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 pm at O'Neill Middle School in Downers Grove.
