Celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau With Mon Ami Gabi

For those of you that may be unaware, the annual Beaujolais Nouveau release is a day not to be missed. When the new vintage wine is released to the world – always the third Thursday of November – classic French bistro Mon Ami Gabi Oak Brook (260 Oakbrook Center) will be hosting a magnifique celebration! From 6-8 pm, on Thursday, November 17, all are invited to get in on this fanciful French occasion with fun for the whole family, including live entertainment, CanCan dancers, and oh-so-irresistible passed hors d’oeuvres. For just $35 per person (plus tax and gratuity), guests can feast on the likes of Beaujolais-inspired fare including Beaujolais Braised Beef Chili with sour cream, Wisconsin cheddar cheese and scallions; Carved Beef Station with brioche buns, Beaujolais braised onion, béarnaise sauce and horseradish cream; Vegetable Crudite with blue cheese dip and french onion dip; and Smoked Salmon and Egg Salad Tartines – to name just a few! To top off this delectable spread, desserts such as Chocolate Mousse and Bread Pudding Bites with Caramel will be up for the savoring.

Those that can’t make the celebration can rest assured they can still enjoy the much-anticipated wine varietal’s debut, as Mon Ami Gabi is serving up a delicious, five-course Beaujolais-inspired menu all week long. Beginning Thursday, November 17 through Wednesday, November 23, guests can enjoy a glass (or two!) of this fruity, light-bodied wine alongside a slew of French favorites. Prepare to indulge in signature items such as tasty Trout Rillettes with Apple Slaw, delectable Oysters with Beaujolais Mignonette and perfectly prepared Pan-Seared Whitefish with Red Potatoes, Brussels Sprout Leaves, Caramelized Garlic and Beaujolais and Bacon Sauce.  No meal would be complete without something sweet, which is why the Blackcurrant Sorbet with Red Wine syrup is the perfect end and a great complement to this easy-to-drink red wine.
