The Alan Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra, a critically acclaimed Chicago Big Band, will bring its jumping, swinging show of 30s and 40s music to Oak Brook’s Central Park at an outdoor concert on Thursday, July 7, at 7 pm. Admission is free.
The orchestra has performed in the MGM movie, “Return to Me,” at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ Midsummer Night Swing Series and each week since 1998 has been packing Chicago's historic Green Mill jazz club. The band performs Big Band, swing and jazz and mixes it with an old-time radio presentation, complete with an emcee and actors creating era-flavored commercials.
