Hieronymus Bosch: Art, Alchemy, and the Grotesque

Jeff Mishur examines paintings by Renaissance artist Hieronymus Bosch that represent some of the world’s most imaginative works of art.  Bosch’s paintings have been interpreted as surrealist, pious, unorthodox, heretical, grotesque, and highly symbolic.  Bosch's keen interest in alchemy also prompted him to blend science and religion in a highly personal way.  Review how aspects of his greatest paintings, such as The Garden of Earthly Delights, still confuse and mystify us today.
