Giant Steps Chili Cook-Off To Benefit Adults With Autism
Sample unlimited chili and indulge in $5 Alter Brewing drafts to benefit adults on the autism spectrum.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL --- The best chili recipes in Downers Grove will be on the menu on Jan. 20 at Alter Brewing Company for the 3rd Annual Giant Steps Chili Cook-Off. Funds from the event, which offers samplings of inventive chili recipes that guests can pair with selections from Alter Brewing's extensive beer menu, will benefit adults on the autism spectrum via the Giant Steps Canopy Adult Services Program.
Those who attend the Giant Steps Chili Cook-Off can indulge in unlimited chili tastings with their $20 basic admission. They'll also get access to $5 Alter Brewing drafts. VIP tickets are available for $35 per person and include everything that comes with general admission, in addition to access to a VIP seating and dining area, raffle tickets, and one beer ticket.
Children under 12 can attend the event with their parents for $5.

Teams of one or two people have until Jan. 18 to throw their hats into the ring to participate in the chili cook-off. To enter, contestants must make their chili from scratch, pay a $20 entry fee, and follow the guidelines laid out on the chili cook-off website.
Winners will be announced at 4:30 p.m. in the following categories:

All funds will go to Giant Steps Canopy Adult Services Program, which provides benefits and support, such as life skills and vocational training to individuals 22 years of age and older on the autism spectrum who are no longer eligible to receive school-based benefits.
