Great Harvest Bread Company To Open In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove residents will soon have a new dining spot to warm up with hot soup and freshly baked bread. Great Harvest Bread Company is set to open downtown at 5117 Main Street in 2018.

The Naperville-based company is known for its makes everything from scratch daily, from the whole wheat berries that are hand-milled on-site, to its made-to-order breakfast and lunch eats, according to the company's website. Their focus is on handmade food crafted with a handful of whole, simple ingredients. One of the most popular items at Great Harvest Bread Company, the honey whole wheat bread, is made with just five ingredients.

Some of the breakfast items diners can look forward to at Great Harvest include handmade cinnamon and pecan rolls, made-from-scratch blueberry scones, and locally sourced coffee. The breakfast and lunch menus offer a variety of sandwiches made with sustainably sourced ingredients, whether you're opting for the veggie 3-seed hummus sandwich or the Italian sandwich, a meat lover's miracle of shaved salami, smoked ham, and black olive tapenade.

The family-owned company currently has a store at 192 W. Gartner Rd. in Naperville, so the Downers Grove store will be its second dining spot when it opens in 2018.
