Halloween Fun: Window Painting, Pumpkin Hunt, More In Downers Grove
Downtown Downers Grove will offer frightfully fun activities this October, including its traditional Halloween window painting.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The haunting atmosphere of Halloween will fill the air in downtown Downers Grove throughout October. Frightful festivities planned for the month include a pumpkin scavenger hunt and Halloween window painting at local businesses.
Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt
Pumpkins will be tucked away in windows of businesses throughout downtown Downers Grove from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. Kids are encouraged to find these hidden gourds and use this sheet to log each pumpkin they find and make a note of each pumpkin's standout accessory.

Once participants have located and logged 15 pumpkins, they can bring their participation form to the Downtown Management Corp. at 933 Curtiss St. to claim a prize. Completed forms can also be photographed by an adult and emailed to info@downtowndg.org for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to use in downtown Downers Grove.

Once again, residents are invited to brighten up local shops and restaurants with Halloween Window Painting downtown on Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Painters are urged to bring a canned good to donate to Downers Grove F.I.S.H Pantry. Painting supplies can be picked up at the Downtown Management Corp. at 933 Curtiss St. Residents are encouraged to bring the following items:
- Paintbrushes
- Paper towels
- Paint shirt or smock
- Paper plate to use as palette
- Water bottle to clean brushes
- Ziploc bag to put brushes in after use
Windows that will be available for Halloween painting will be marked with stripes and are available on a first come, first served basis.
