Latest Downers Grove Coronavirus Update: 41 Cases Confirmed
Here are the latest updates on coronavirus cases in Downers Grove.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The new coronavirus outbreak in Illinois and across the nation is having a vast impact on Downers Grove, forcing the temporary closure of schools, businesses, parks and playgrounds.
As of early Thursday, the village has 41 confirmed cases of coronavirus. At press time, there are 873 coronavirus cases in DuPage County and 28 people have died from complications.
Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital did not immediately respond to a request for information about the hospital's coronavirus cases.

The news comes as the number of total coronavirus cases in Illinois is at 15,078. As of early Thursday, the statewide death toll was at 462.
On March 31, Governor J.B. Pritzker extended his stay-at-home order through April 30.

SCHOOLS
All schools in Illinois will remain closed through at least April 30 per Pritzker's extended stay-at-home order. MORE.
BUSINESSES
Per the governor's order, restaurants are closed for in-person dining, but many Downers Grove restaurants are still offering orders for delivery or pickup.
HOSPITALS
In the wake of the coronavirus crisis, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital has put a temporary no-visitor policy in place to help ensure the health and safety of the staff and community. Exceptions may be made, including for pediatric care, end-of-life care and other circumstances.
