Make Blankets For 'Project Linus' At Downers Grove Library

The blankets, made by children grades 7 through 12, will be donated to children in need.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — It's the season for giving and Downers Grove Public Library is hosting an event that gives older kids a way to volunteer their time to help children in need. From Nov. 20 through Nov. 23, kids grades 7 through 12 can come to the library to help make blankets for Project Linus.

Supplies will be provided to make the tie blankets, so kids just need to bring themselves and a willingness to help. The completed blankets will be donated to Project Linus, a non-profit organization that has been providing blankets for children in need since 1995.

In that time, Project Linus has donated more than 7.7 million blankets to underprivileged kids throughout the United States.
