Man Approached Girl In 'Suspicious Incident' In Downers Grove: PD
Police say the 9-year-old was roller skating when a man got out of his car and began walking toward her.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- Police in Downers Grove are reminding parents to stay vigilant after a nine-year-old girl was approached by a man while she was roller skating near Prairie and Lee Saturday evening. The girl told police she fled after the man pulled over, got out to check his truck, and began approaching her.
Police say the man did not say anything to the girl and she returned home safely to her parents.
In a press release, the driver was described as a white male between 40 and 50 years old with gray hair and eyeglasses. He was driving a small gray SUV at the time of the "suspicious incident."

Police officials are urging parents to remind their children that they should immediately run home or to a familiar house if they are approached by a stranger. Parents should call police as soon as possible after such an incident.
