Men In Costumes Steal Volkswagen On Halloween: Oak Park Police
Police are still looking for suspect(s) who stole a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta on Halloween. The car was found, but no arrests have been made.
OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park police are looking for three men who stole a Volkswagen on Halloween while they were dressed in costumes. The theft took place in the 1000 block of Austin at approximately 6:44 p.m. on Oct. 31.
According to the victim, their gray 2000 Volkswagen Jetta was running and unlocked in an alley when the three suspects got in and drove off in the vehicle and other items inside the car, including a burgundy fur coat, a purse, and jewelry.
Chicago Police later recovered the stolen Volkswagen in the 5700 block of W. Augusta at approximately 11:54 a.m. on Nov. 1.
