Midwestern University Alum Found Dead In Frozen Michigan Pond
Dr. Bolek Payan, who graduated from Midwestern University as a doctor of osteopathic medicine in 2017, had been missing for nearly a week.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A missing psychiatrist who graduated from Midwestern University's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine was found dead Tuesday in a frozen pond in Michigan. Dr. Bolek Payan, who graduated from the Downers Grove college in 2017, had been missing since Dec. 22.
Payan was last seen leaving Henry Ford Allegiance Health, where he worked as a psychiatrist. After he was reported missing, authorities searched near Payan's 200-acre property and later cut holes into a pond that had frozen over.
Divers recovered Payan 's body Tuesday, and an autopsy will be conducted by the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to Blackman-Leoni Public Safety officials, Payan's car was located at his home shortly after his disappearance. It is believed he died prior to being reported as missing.
Patch left a message with Midwestern University for comment Wednesday after reaching a voicemail saying the school was on its winter break.
