The Mini-Medical School is a four-week medical education program open to community members (adult, college, and high school students). The program is designed for people who want to learn more about topics taught in medical school or other professional healthcare programs at Midwestern University. The Mini-Medical School will be held on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:15 PM on October 23, October 30, November 6, and November 13. All sessions will be held at the University’s campus located at 555 31st Street, Downers Grove, IL.
- Human Microbiome: Your Friends and Enemies – learn more about the collection of microorganisms that live in and on us and their role in human health and disease.
- Pharmacists on the Front Lines of the Opioid Crisis – explore how pharmacists are active participants in combating the opioid crisis facing our country.
- Osteopathic Medicine: What's It All About? – join us as we walk through a patient case and learn more about the history and philosophy of osteopathic medicine.
- Dental Medicine Overview – learn about the history of dentistry and participate in a hands-on workshop to explore modern dental equipment.
