Motorcyclist Killed In Crash In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- A Downers Grove man has died after his motorcycle crashed into a car Tuesday afternoon. The fatal crash took place just after 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of 67th Street and Main Street, according to a news release from Downers Grove Police spokesperson Bill Budds.

Police say the driver, whose name and age are begin withheld pending notification of next of kin, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to Budds, the preliminary investigation into the fatal crash shows that the car was heading north on Main Street while the motorcycle was driving south on Main Street. Police say the motorcycle hit the car as the car made a left turn onto 67th Street.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Downers Grove Police Department and the FIAT Major Crash Reconstruction team.
