Oktoberfest To Benefit District 58 With Brats, Brews, Family Fun

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downtown Downers Grove will be all abuzz with live polka tunes, German-inspired cuisine and beer to mark the Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58's 2023 Oktoberfest event. The two-day festivities are slated for Sept. 15 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sept. 16 from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Highlights include an appearance from Dan Hampton and a bratwurst eating contest pitting Downers Grove North and South High Schools against one another.

The event menu features:

• Bavarian pretzels
• Bratwursts
• Chicken schnitzel
• German potato salad
• Potato pancakes
• Apple strudel
• German chocolate cake

No Oktoberfest would be complete without an assortment of seasonal ales and other brews. Here's what guests 21 and over can sip:
