Public Hearing Planned For 9-Unit Mixed-Use Apartment Building On Forest Avenue (patch.com) — Downers Grove residents will soon have a chance to weigh in on revised plans for a mixed-use building on Forest Avenue, where Forest Pointe now proposes nine apartments instead of six. The project at 5112-5120 Forest Ave would feature a first-floor restaurant, retail space and parking, and goes before the Planning and Zoning Commission on Sept. 21.
   

2. Dutch Bros. Development Gets Green Light From Downers Grove Village Council (patch.com) — Downers Grove's Village Council has approved a Dutch Bros. Coffee at Saratoga and Ogden, despite earlier objections from residents worried about traffic near Herrick Middle School. Officials said the plan now includes changes shaped by public input, and some expect a new Darien location to help ease vehicle stacking when the Downers Grove shop opens.
