• Village, Park District To Present Stormwater Detention Improvements For Hummer Park (patch.com) — Residents near Hummer Park in Downers Grove will soon be invited to a public meeting on Oct. 12 to review plans for new stormwater detention features aimed at reducing flooding on Fairview Avenue. Village and Park District officials, along with engineers, are proposing creekside grading changes, native landscaping, and turf grass, with an intergovernmental agreement and 2027 budget funding lined up to move the project forward.
   

• Owner To Reopen Everest Asian Fusion As Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar In Downers Grove (patch.com) — Downers Grove diners will see Everest Asian Fusion on 75th Street close after about six months as the same owner prepares to reopen the space as Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar in October. The new restaurant, from Wei Zheng who also operates a Crab King in Oak Lawn, will emphasize seafood boils, fried seafood dishes, and indulgent desserts.
   

• Benet freshman William Comiskey, Hinsdale Central team take regional golf titles (shawlocal.com) — Downers Grove South's boys golf team clinched a sectional berth with a 295 at the Class 3A Benet Regional, edging Lyons by one stroke while Downers Grove North finished fifth but advanced two individual qualifiers. Benet freshman William Comiskey took medalist honors in rainy conditions, and several Mustangs golfers tied for top-10 scores as Hinsdale Central captured the team title.
