DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove police are asking for the public's help with information related to a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian on Main Street Friday evening.

Police say a 55-year-old man was in a crosswalk in the 6800 block of Main Street heading east just before 5 p.m. when he was hit by a dark-colored sedan that was driving south. The car then fled the scene, Downers Grove Police Department spokesperson Bill Budds told Patch.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
