Person Hit, Killed By Train In Downers Grove: Police

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A person is dead after they were struck by a train in Downers Grove on Friday, according to police.

Downers Grove police said officers were called to the Highland Avenue area just before 7 p.m. after receiving a report of someone hit by a train. According to police, the person was walking on the tracks when they were hit by a westbound Metra train.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Authorities did not release the victim's name pending notification of family.
