Mini-Camp: Flight Engineers
Students will have the opportunity to learn about the evolution of flight
Frost Science’s dynamic Mini-Camps are the perfect action-packed solution to a Teacher Planning Day. Kids (ages 5 – 11) will spend the day exploring the museum’s interactive exhibitions, conducting science experiments, and making new friends. On Friday, April 7, young learners will discover a day of flight engineering where they can design and test the perfect paper airplane and get ready to take flight!
WHEN: Friday, April 7, 2023; 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Just for Me: Our Planet Earth
Experience planet Earth the sensory-friendly way!
Join Frost Science on Saturday, April 15 for Just for Me, a program dedicated to welcoming individuals and families with diverse sensory and accessibility needs to discover and explore everything the Museum has to offer. Guests can enjoy the museum in a quiet, comfortable and accepting environment. Just For Me backpacks are also available – equipped with noise-reducing earmuffs, a small, weighted blanket and sensory toys.
During Just for Me hours there will be sound and lighting adjustments within the exhibitions to make them more sensory-friendly. There will also be a special tactile and interactive activation within one exhibition so guests can engage with scientific concepts at their own pace and on their own terms. This month, guests will discover who is a predator and who is the prey by using their senses to observe different animal skulls. They will also be able to create their own loggerhead turtle hatchling from everyday craft supplies and dodge obstacles as they attempt to navigate their baby sea turtle to the safety of the sea.

Laser Evening
Get ready to rock under the Frost Planetarium’s 67-foot dome.
Experience legendary music combined with laser light visuals during Frost Science’s next Laser Evening on Saturday, April 15. The lineup includes Elton John, Prince, Beyoncé, Deadmau5, and Pink Floyd. Guests are encouraged to come early to hang out in the museum’s main atrium where light snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. Laser shows rotate throughout the year, as each event has a different lineup. Each Laser Evening show must be purchased separately.

Mini-Me Science: April Showers Bring May Flowers (a.m. and p.m. sessions)
Weather the storm with Frost Science!
Join Frost Science on Sunday, April 16 for the latest edition of the museum’s Mini-Me Science program, developed for children ages two to five to share experiences that engage the senses while promoting exploration and discovery through hands-on activities that are specifically designed for early learners. During April’s Mini-Me Science sessions, you and your little one will be introduced to the water cycle and learn the key steps leading to rain. Young learners will discover rain through the use of new materials and tools to create their very own rain cloud with a few sprinkles of rain to watch their little sprouts grow.

Mini-Me Science sessions last approximately 60 minutes, with a 30-minute hands-on activity followed by a 30- minute guided museum exploration in one of their exhibitions. All children must be accompanied by an adult (maximum of two adults per child).

LIVE@Frost Science: The Great American Eclipses of 2023 and 2024
Dr. Roberts will explore the history of eclipses and showcase how to prepare to experience these astronomical events
The next LIVE@Frost Science free speaker event takes place on Wednesday, April 19 and features Dr. Douglas Roberts, VP of Science Education and Director of the Frost Planetarium, who will explore the history of eclipses and showcase how to prepare to experience them, including where to travel to experience the totality of the eclipses. The next solar eclipses in North America will be the Annular Solar Eclipse on October 14, 2023, and the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024.
Event attendees will receive a complimentary pair of CE & ISO Certified solar eclipse glasses! One pair of glasses per guest and will be based on availability. Glasses are reserved for event attendees only and will be distributed at the end of the talk.

Spend some time exploring the molecular machinery that makes us tick as Frost Science celebrates DNA Day on Saturday, April 29.
