Pierce Tavern Poised For January Opening In Downers Grove
The new bar and restaurant will occupy a prime piece of real estate at 5135 Main Street.
DOWNERS GROVE — Downtown Downers Grove will have yet another place to dine and drink once Pierce Tavern opens. The bar and grill has set its sights on a January opening and anyone who strolls down Main Street can see that construction is moving along quickly.
The tavern will be located at 5135 Main St., on the corner of Main and Curtiss, putting it right around the corner from the Downers Grove library in the heart of downtown.
If Pierce Tavern's teaser website is accurate, diners will be able to nosh on upscale pub fare that includes handmade burgers, huge Bavarian pretzels with dipping sauce, and wood-fired pizza.

The tavern, which will have a similar theme to Fuller House in Hinsdale, promises to be a laidback spot for residents to sample craft beers and sip Moscow mules and blackberry bourbon lemonade from mason jars.
