Proposals Sought As Public Art Initiative Launches In Downers Grove

Downers Grove will accept proposals for its public art program until March 13 by 4 p.m.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove is set to launch its first public art program and has begun accepting proposals. Four installations will be chosen to be brought to life during this first phase of the public art program.

The village integrated the public art program into its Guiding DG Streetscapes plan in April of 2025 to address the "limited cultural or public art components within the streetscapes," according to the plan outline.

but also as an attraction to help local businesses," the Guiding DG Streetscapes plan states.

The first installations will be featured downtown and at Linda Kunze Plaza.
