Prostitution Sting Yields Arrest At Downers Grove Red Roof Inn

The woman had a gun with 13 rounds of ammunition, police say.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- A Schaumburg woman was arrested on charges of prostitution and unlawful use of a weapon after a sting that took place at the Red Roof Inn in Downers Grove on Jan. 23. Police say they found a handgun and 13 rounds of ammunition on Nautishia TK Burnette, 30, when she was taken into custody on prostitution charges in connection with an ad police found on a website online.

Police say they began the prostitution investigation after finding an advertisement on listcrawler.com, which led them to the Red Roof Inn at 1113 Butterfield around 2 p.m. on Jan. 23.

After an investigation at the hotel, police attempted to take Burnette into custody, but say she initially resisted arrest. During a search of Burnette's purse, police say they found a handgun with 13 rounds of ammunition. Records show that Burnette lacked an FOID to possess the gun legally, police say.
