Son Shot Up Parents' House, Faked Burglary In St. Charles: Cops
Timothy B. Fay, 28, of the 4500 block of Camden in Yorkville, allegedly fired 30 rounds in his parents St. Charles home.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A man accidentally shot himself in the arm and blamed it on a fake burglary after he allegedly fired 30 rounds inside his parents' St. Charles home. Schools were placed on a soft lockdown on Oct. 26 near Fay's parents' home on Grandview court after in the after Timothy Fay, 28, of the 4500 block of Camden in Yorkville, told police an armed intruder shot him during the alleged burglary.
Police later got a search warrant to investigate the home, Daily Herald reports. The inspectors found the home riddled with bullet holes in the furniture, walls, doors, and even the neighboring house. David Kintz, deputy police chief of St. Charles, told Daily Herald that the shell casings scattered throughout the home were from bullets of four different calibers.
According to police, the majority of the more than 30 rounds of bullets were shot in the home's basement.

After the investigation, St. Charles police charged Fay with reckless discharge of a firearm, filing a false police report, and aggravated discharge of a firearm into another building. He's currently in a local hospital and faces up to 30 years in prison for these felony charges, Daily Herald reports.
When Fay is taken into custody, he will be held on $200,000 bail.
