Traffic Crackdown Yields 69 Tickets In DuPage County
The DuPage County Sheriff's Department issued 69 tickets for its Independence Day safety campaign.
DUPAGE COUNTY — Drivers were issued 69 tickets during a Fourth of July safety campaign in DuPage County.
During 55 traffic stops, the following tickets were issued by DuPage County Sheriff's Office deputies:
- 16 speeding tickets
- Nine tickets for obstructed windshields
- Six tickets for no front license plate
- Six tickets for improperly passing an emergency vehicle
- Five tickets for improper window tinting
- Five tickets for disobeying a traffic signal
- Five tickets for driving without insurance
- Four distracted driving tickets
- Three tickets for improper windshield condition
- Two tickets for driving with a headlight out
- One ticket for failure to comply with registration statute
- One ticket for improper lighting
- One ticket for driving without a valid license
- One ticket for cancelled registration
- One ticket for expired registration
- One ticket for failure to signal
- One ticket for following too close
- One ticket for prohibited lighting
The sheriff's office's campaign was part of a statewide effort linked to the "Click It or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaigns.
