Salco employees donate 87 boxes of food
Downers Grove Area FISH receives generous food donation
The employees of Salco Products, a manufacturer of railcar parts in Lemont, all received bonuses from this family-owned company. The employees then displayed their generosity by shopping for food in November to give to people who are less fortunate. For the past several years they have chosen to donate the food to the Downers Grove Area FISH food pantry. A company spokesperson said " It was nice to see everyone stepped up this year and superseded what we have donated in past years. It started with the purchasing department challenging the rest of the departments to outdo their previous donations." Ruth Anderson, the pantry supervisor, was pleasantly surprised and thankful for the overwhelming generosity of the Salco Products employees, totaling over 87 boxes of food. Thanks to Dave and Lori Oestermeyer, company owners, and their employees, many families in need will have food on their tables this winter.
