Truck Stolen Outside Home In Downers Grove
Police say the truck contained thousands of dollars of equipment.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A truck containing thousands of dollars worth of work equipment was stolen from outside a home in Downers Grove, according to police.
Officers were called to a home in the 600 block of 65th Street around 5 a.m. Monday for a report of a car theft.
The owner told police he parked his 2024 Dodge Ram 1500 on 65th Street around 2 p.m. on April 26 after heading to pick up pizza. He said he had left the car unlocked and had gotten distracted and left the keys inside.

According to police, the victim saw the car's taillights on his surveillance cameras around 1:30 a.m. As of 2:30 a.m., the car was no longer where he had parked it.
It was last seen being driven east on 63rd Street.

Per a police report, tools valuing up to $9,000 total had been inside the truck. These include two Milwaukee band saws, two Milwaukee hammer drill tools, two Milwaukee drills, four Milwaukee impacts, two Milwaukee hand saws, eight 6-amp Milwaukee batteries, a 10-foot step ladder, two Milwaukee power rivet guns, two gang boxes, a Milwaukee angle drill and some sheet metal tools.
The stolen truck was located in Chicago on April 30.
