State Farm Downers Grove Location Closing Amid Nationwide Closures

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — State Farm recently announced it will close nearly a dozen stores throughout the country starting between 2018 and 2021. The Downers Grove State Farm location will close in 2020, leaving its employees with the opportunity to move elsewhere within the company for jobs. State Farm plans to consolidate these locations into its headquarters throughout Bloomington, Phoenix, Atlanta, Dallas and other locations.

State Farm is closing its Downers Grove location in addition to other locations throughout the midwest and in California and the east coast in an effort to streamline business. State Farm 's executive vice president and chief administrative officer Mary Schmidt said in a statement:

"We understand the decision to exit these facilities directly affects our employees and their communities. While the exits will begin in 2018 and continue over several years, we are announcing this decision now in order to give employees time to make personal and professional decisions. The company will continue to have a strong local presence in these communities through our agents and local claims employees."
