Streamwood Man Charged With Sexually Soliciting Child In Wheaton
Police say the child's parents saw the inappropriate communication on their child's social media account.

WHEATON, IL -- A Streamwood man faces charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse after police say he tried to sexually solicit a child in Wheaton via social media. The victim's parents reportedly saw the inappropriate messages on their child's social media account and alerted authorities, who arrested Muhammad Shoaib, 27, Monday.
Shoaib was taken into custody around 8 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Gary Avenue. Wheaton Deputy Police Chief Youker commended the parents for their "proactive parenting and cooperation" during the investigation that lead to Shoaib's arrest.

Shoaib is currently being held at DuPage County Jail on $75,000 bond.
