Students Join New York Musicians For Concert In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Orchestra students from Downers Grove District 99 and Downers Grove Grade School 58 will perform with New York musicians in a special concert planned for Oct. 16. Musicians from Downers Grove North and South, and Herrick and O'Neill Middle Schools will take the stage with PROJECT Trio, a Brooklyn-based group that is known around the globe.

Jennifer Mullen, who directs the District 99 orchestra said in a news release that the students and staff are "thrilled" to play with PROJECT Trio.

"We are thrilled to welcome PROJECT Trio and honored to have our students play alongside these incredibly creative professionals," she added.

PROJECT Trio has made a name for itself with over 85 million views on YouTube and a repertoire of genre-bending musical skills that include classical tunes, nu-Metal, and more. The group was praised in the Wall Street Journal for its "subversive humor and first-rate playing."
