Sunday folk series to support the Two Way Street Coffee House In Downers Grove returns April 12

The Two Way Street Coffee House, 1047 Curtiss Street, will present a special matinee concert on Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 pm.

DOWNERS GROVE IL - The Two Way Street Coffee House, 1047 Curtiss Street, will present a special matinee concert on Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 pm. Featured are longtime roots guitarist and singer Ren Herr and folk historian and song collector Joey Kostal. Ashley & Simpson will open the show and Midwest troubadour Mark Dvorak will also perform.

Since 2019 Jennifer Ashely and Joel Simpson have served as co-directors of the Two Way Street Coffee House.
Now in its 56th season, the Two Way Street has presented acoustic music in the intimate basement space at the First Congregational United Church of Christ and been host to weekly jam sessions, sing alongs and barn dances.

“We’re really excited to bring back the Heritage Series,” said Simpson. “Our goal is to help grow our community and create more opportunities for local performers.”

"Over the years, the Two Way Street has touched a lot of lives," said co-director Ashley Simpson. "Joel and I began working with Mark Dvorak to develop the concept and the response from performers willing to donate their time has been overwhelming. Last year the series raised over $2,000 help keep our coffee house thriving."

There is no admission charge for the concerts, free donations will be accepted. All proceeds go directly to support the Two Way Street Coffee House.
