SWAT Team Called To Downers Grove Hotel For Incident That Hurt 3
Police were called to Red Roof Inn for a report of an aggravated battery that left three men hospitalized.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A SWAT team was called to a Downers Grove hotel early Monday after an incident that led to three men being hospitalized.
Police say they were called to the Red Roof Inn at 1113 Butterfield Rd. around 4 a.m. for a report of an aggravated battery. When they got to the scene, they encountered a man who told them someone in the hotel room had hit him and was possibly armed with a weapon.
The man was transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, police say.

Two other men were inside the room, but declined to exit for several hours, despite the efforts of officers at the scene, police say. Just before 7 a.m., the DuPage County Sheriff's Office's MERIT Metro SWAT Team got to the hotel and entered the room.
SWAT team officers found and detained one man without incident. That individual and another man who was inside the room, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. Police say their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Citing the ongoing investigation, Downers Grove police spokesperson Bill Budds told Patch he was unable to provide additional details early Monday afternoon. Police are urging anyone with information to call the Downers Grove Police Department at 630-434-5600.
