Tires, Hubcaps Stolen Off Cars At Dealerships In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — In recent days, Downers Grove police have responded to reports of tires and hubcaps being stolen off of cars at dealerships. In one incident, tires were stolen from two cars at the Pugi Hyundai dealership located at 1866 Ogden Ave. In another incident, wheels and hubcaps were stolen from a car at Star Motors, located at 1723 Ogden Ave.

According to a police report, the dealership said the rear tires were stolen from two cars with the wheel still inside sometime between June 20 and June 29. The four Michelin Primary Tour AS tires were valued at approximately $1000 apiece.

Star Motors on Ogden Ave. reported on June 27 that two wheels and hubcaps were stolen from a BMW parked on their lot. A front and back wheel were stolen and the car was placed on concrete blocks.
