Wallet Stolen From Purse At Portillo's In Downers Grove
The victim told police her purse was hanging on the back of her chair when the incident took place.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A woman's wallet was stolen from her purse while she was dining at Portillo's in Downers Grove. The incident took place Jan. 30 at the restaurant's 1500 Butterfield Rd. location.
The woman told police that she had put her purse on the back of her chair while she was eating. At one point, she said it seemed like someone might have been rummaging through her purse, but that she didn't turn around because she thought it was just someone moving their chair.
Police say the woman checked her purse after the people at the table behind her left and discovered that her wallet had been taken. The wallet, which was valued at $200, contained ID cards, credit and debit cards, checkbooks and $75 in cash.
