Wheaton Coronavirus Cases Increase By 8 Percent In 1 Week
As of Wednesday, 645 cases have been reported in the city.
WHEATON, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Wheaton has increased by 8 percent in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department.
As of Sept. 2, the city had reported 595 cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 645 as of Sept. 9.
In nearby Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by 5 percent. As of Sept. 2, there were 467 cases reported in Glen Ellyn. The number of cases reported in Glen Ellyn as of Sept. 9 was 491.

The health department's dashboard indicated Wednesday that the countywide community transmission was moderate. In recent weeks, there has been an increase in the number of persons between 20 and 29 who have reported cases of coronavirus.
As of Sept. 2, 2,800 people between the ages of 20 and 29 have had coronavirus in DuPage County. That number increased to 3,005 as of Sept. 9, reflecting an overall increase of 7 percent for that age group.

Those between the ages of 30 and 49 saw an increase of 5 percent in positive cases. For ages 50 to 69, there was also a 5 percent increase in positive cases.
