DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Holiday decorating can be a joyous experience, but it's also likely to leave you struggling with strands of burnt-out bulbs. This year, the Village of Downers Grove is offering holiday lights recycling throughout the season to help residents stay eco-friendly as they trim their trees and homes.
Residents can drop off broken lights and used extension cords at Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave. or at Public Works, 5101 Walnut Ave. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. These locations will accept the following:
- Mini-lights/Italian lights
- Rope lights
- C7 lights
- C9 lights
- LED lights
- Extension cords
The village's holiday lights recycling program will continue through February 9.
