Rajan P. of Downers Grove says, “I went there for brunch just in impulse and man it was the best decision of the day. We ordered the shrimp tacos and the turkey burger and both were simply delicious. Also, it was a pleasant surprise when they served fries with the tacos. They were the best fries I had in sometime. The service was very good too. The server was attentive and polite. The ambience was a bit different than I imagined but it’s not bad. I would definitely go back, soon :)“

Minh-An C. of Downers Grove says, “I thoroughly enjoyed my skillet. Everything was yummy about it. I really liked the English muffin that came with the skillet. It was perfectly toasted and the blueberry sauce that came with it was fresh and delicious. My grapefruit juice had pulp and tasted very fresh. The pancake was fluffy and I put the remaining blueberry sauce on the pancake. It was a huge portion and I still had about half leftover, which makes a delicious lunch!”

Mojo’s East Coast Eats, 2758 Maple Ave., Downers Grove | 4.5 stars

Honey Jam Café, 3000 Oak Grove Road, Downers Grove | 3.5 stars

Kat D. of Lombard says, “Cozy and homey, I like the ambiance of this place. My recommendation is that you arrive there before 10am. After that, you’re really stuck waiting for a good 45 mins to an hour. I’m going to gush about their waffles and french toast. My favorite waffle has to be their Belgium Sundae waffle. They serve a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top with chocolate sauce. Mmmmm. And the their strawberry cream cheese french toast is like magic. So good. I also really like their corned beef hash. Overall, quality food, reasonable price. Go get your breakfast on!”

Kristina’s Cafe, 5130 Main St., Downers Grove | 4 stars

Donna M. of Chicago says, ”Seriously addicting is all I can say. I’m one of the pickiest people when it comes to restaurants because if I can cook it at home I think I can probably do it better. Putting my snobbish ways aside...this place is GREAT! My mom and I went in for brunch two weeks ago and were extremely pleased with everything from the soup to her omelette to my turkey/brie panini. The bacon-cheddar-potato soup is to die for. They must be taking a loss on the turkey and brie panini because there is a ton of brie on it. The fries are fresh cut too! My mom’s omelette was easily big enough for two and she said it was delicious. Great waitress, comfy seats, seated right away by the attentive owner.”

Jam N Jelly Cafe, 6435 Main St., Woodridge | 4 stars

Chris V. of Woodridge says, “Every time I go I can’t help myself and get either an omelette or skillet, I have tried several of them and they are all good and the ingredients range from Green Pepper to Lox(smoked salmon) and all of the eggs are Farm Raised, according to the menu. I have also had their country fried steak which of course was fantastic. Make sure that if your meal comes with pancakes you upgrade to one of their premium pancakes (everyone likes dessert after breakfast) like the Banana Walnut or Cinnamon Roll (actually their regular pancakes are some of the best I have ever had). This is by far my favorite breakfast spot and I will find it hard to try an other places in the area and I am sure when my friends visit they wont let me take them anywhere else either!!”

Juicy-O, 2942 Finley Road, Downers Grove | 3.5 stars

Stove P. of Lombard says, “The cinnamon swirl French toast was scrumptious--really, the best I think I’d ever had. The hot syrup wasn’t making it worse either. My friend ordered a keish stuffed with sundried tomatoes I believe. Sooo good. Oh, and instead of a stupid bread basket, they placed a bowl of small crispy, sugary donuts on the table. SOLD. Take me there again, I will love you!”

Smokey Tomato Cafe & Catering, 1028 Curtiss St. Downers Grove | 4 stars

Sumeet C. of Chicago says, “Dropped in because we were looking for a brunch place. This place lived up to it! Food was amazing, coffee was great, even the pre brunch “desert” or raisin cinnamon bread was delicious. It’s a must try for anyone...keep in mind, it’s small and fresh so it may take time, but well worth it.”
