Elgin Teen Charged as Adult With Murder of Bartlett High Senior
Timothy Jones died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen on Dec. 27.

A 17-year-old Elgin boy has been charged as an adult with murder in the shooting death of 18-year-old Timothy Jones, a senior at Bartlett High School, who died last week.
Anton Cross, of the 300 block of Washington Street in Elgin, is being held at the juvenile justice center on a $750,000 bond and is charged with two counts of murder, the Daily Herald reports. Cross and Jones had been in an ongoing dispute and Jones died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital following the shooting in the 1600 block of Maple Lane on Dec. 27.
Funeral services for Jones were held Tuesday morning, according to his obituary. Jones was expected to graduate from Bartlett High School this year and loved to play football and basketball.
