Woman Suing Nick's Pizza After Slipping On Peanut Shells
The woman claims she suffered extensive injuries following her January 2016 slip.

A Roselle woman claims she racked up more than $75,000 in medical bills and continues to deal with injuries she suffered after slipping on peanut shells while walking on a ramp at Nick's Pizza and Pub in Elgin in January 2016. Nancy Zappia is suing the local pizzeria, saying Nick's staffers were negligent when they allowed the peanut shells to sit on the ramp, the Daily Herald reports.
Nick's serves in-shell peanuts to customers. And customers are encouraged to brush the shells onto the floor.
Zappia is now seeking more than $50,000 in damages, according to the Daily Herald.

"Because of her fall, she had to get a cervical fusion (surgery) redone. She's out of the hospital but not in good shape," Paul Millewich, the woman's attorney, told the Daily Herald. "Peanut shells on a flat surface are one thing. Peanut shells on an incline, on a ramp, that's dangerous."
