8 Elmhurst Residents Face Fireworks Charges
One man was charged twice in the same night, according to police reports.
ELMHURST, IL – Ten people, eight of them from Elmhurst, were cited on the Fourth of July on charges of possessing fireworks, police said.
One man, Steven G. Genaro, 29, of Elmhurst, was charged twice the same night for fireworks, according to police reports.
About 7:30 p.m., an officer showed up at Genaro's house in the 700 block of North Kenilworth Avenue, where Genaro was found in possession of fireworks, police said. He was issued a citation.

An hour and a half later, an officer responded to the same place for a fireworks complaint. Genaro was again found to have fireworks, police said. This time, he was taken to the police station and released on bond.

In all the cases, police said they confiscated fireworks.
Here are the others cited on charges of possessing fireworks on the Fourth of July:
- Shaun T. Zacharias, 45, of Elmhurst, about 9 p.m., near Poplar Avenue and Madison Street. An officer saw Zacharias' fireworks being deployed.
- Natasha E. Younan, 39, of Bensenville, about 9 p.m. in the 100 block of North Willow Avenue. Police said an officer saw fireworks being deployed from the sidewalk.
- Michelle Grens, 41, of Elmhurst, about 9 p.m. in the 600 block of South Swain Avenue. Police said she was found to be in possession of fireworks on the street.
- Efrem J. Macadoo, 55, of Elmhurst, about 9:30 p.m. at York Commons Park.
- Patrick J. Earley, 67, of Elmhurst, about 9:30 p.m. in the 300 block of East Madison Street. Police said an officer saw spent fireworks in the street and found Earley to be in possession of more fireworks.
- Michael P. Wilson, 76, of Elmhurst, about 10 p.m. in the 200 block of East Harrison Street. An officer saw many fireworks being deployed on the street in front of Wilson's house, police said.
- Katina A. McMillen, 45, of Elmhurst, about 10:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Parkside Avenue. Police responded to a fireworks complaint.
- Christine K. Androsky, 36, of Villa Park, about 10 p.m. in the 500 block of West Third Street.
