Another Elmhurst DUI Arrest For Teacher: Cops
In September, she was accused of kicking officers after being stopped for DUI, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A teacher who kicked Elmhurst officers in September was arrested again last week on a charge of DUI, police said.
Janie Otero, 39, of Schiller Park, was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated DUI, driving with a suspended license, possessing marijuana and possessing open alcohol, police said.
About 7 p.m., Otero was stopped in the 500 block of North York Street after jumping a curb, police said. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

In a September story, Patch detailed Otero's encounter with Elmhurst officers, based on a police report.
In that instance, she described herself as a kindergarten school teacher, saying she had worked in childcare in Elmhurst, the report said.

In the September incident, when Otero said she was a teacher at the police station, she was asked whether she knew any good children's songs. She then sang "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," police said.
She was arrested at the time on counts of DUI and aggravated battery, among others.
