Another Nuisance Warning For Elmhurst Business

In December, an employee crashed into a house, prompting the first warning, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – For the second time in seven months, Win Auto Plaza, 704 W. Lake St., has received a chronic nuisance warning from the city.

The police issued the latest warning Wednesday.

Six days earlier, an officer and code enforcement responded to a complaint of a boat parked in the street at Win Auto Plaza, according to a police report. The boat was to be moved. A citation was issued for a car parked in front of a fire hydrant, police said.

The last such nuisance warning was issued Dec. 7. That was after an employee crashed into a house while on a test drive, police said.

If three or more nuisance activities occur within 180 days of the crash, the owners may be charged under a city ordinance. They must appear before an administrative hearing officer if they are charged, he said.

If the property is found to be a chronic nuisance, the owners could be charged $500 to $1,000 for each violation
