Elmhurst Issues Warning To Car Dealership
The owners were required to respond within 10 days, but apparently did not do so.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst issued a "chronic nuisance" warning to a local car dealership two days after one of its employees was accused of crashing into a house during a test drive.
The dealership is Win Auto Plaza, 704 W. Lake St. Patch could not reach the dealership for comment because its phone number is no longer in service.
On Dec. 7, Deputy Police Chief Jim Gandy wrote to Edwin and Joan Enyart of Win Auto Plaza and noted the crash at 715 Junior Terrace, three blocks from the dealership.

Gandy said the dealership was in danger of becoming a chronic nuisance property under city regulations.
If three or more nuisance activities occur within 180 days of the crash, the owners may be charged under a city ordinance, Gandy said. They must appear before an administrative hearing officer if they are charged, he said.

If the property is found to be a chronic nuisance, the owners could be charged $500 to $1,000 for each violation
Gandy asked the owners to respond in writing within 10 days with a plan to eliminate the nuisance.
Patch obtained the city's letter through a request seeking all public records related to the alleged nuisance. The city did not provide the owners' response, indicating the owners failed to meet that requirement.
