Armed Robbery at Elmhurst Bank, Suspect Flees: Police

Elmhurst Police are investigating an armed bank robbery at the Community Bank of Elmhurst, 330 Butterfield Road.

ELMHURST, IL — An undetermined amount of cash was taken in an armed bank robbery in Elmhurst on May 18 before the suspect fled the scene. According to police, a male suspect stole money from the Community Bank of Elmhurst, 330 Butterfield Road.

At 5 p.m. May 18, a white male suspect, described as 35 years old, 6'0", 160 pounds, with a buzz cut entered the bank and announced a robbery to the teller, police said. The suspect was wearing sunglasses, a white and blue striped hoodie and blue jeans.

According to police, a handgun was displayed in the suspect's waistband.

Police said the suspect fled the scene in a white Toyota Tundra pick-up with its lift gate down, going eastbound on Butterfield Road.

According to a release, Elmhurst police evidence technicians processed the scene and are working with agents from the FBI. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact the Elmhurst Police Department at 630-530-3050.
