The annual Students for the Information Age TECH 2018 event will be held on Thursday, May 10.

ELMHURST, IL — Churchville students will participate in an annual technology event next month. The annual Students for the Information Age TECH 2018 event will be held on Thursday, May 10, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Illinois State Capitol Building in Springfield, where hundreds of students and teachers will represent schools from throughout the state.
The district said students will show the public and members of the Illinois State Senate and House of Representatives how technology is being used in the classroom to increase student engagement and improve achievement. Churchville eighth graders Ariela Asllani and Isabel Kachappilly will be presenting Creative Coding.
The school said the students created their own programs in two different coding platforms which they will control using inventions they created with littleBits and a Makey-Makey.
