Congressman To Hold Elmhurst Town Hall

Rep. Jesus "Chuy" Garcia plans to speak about "key issues" in his district, according to his office.

ELMHURST, IL – U.S. Rep. Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, a Chicago Democrat, plans to hold a town hall Thursday night in Elmhurst.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 209 N. York St.

Garcia represents Illinois' 4th Congressional District.

According to his news release, other officials at the town hall will be Mayor Scott Levin; state Rep. Norma Hernandez, D-Melrose Park; DuPage County Board member Yeena Yoo, D-Elmhurst; and Elmhurst Alderwoman Marti Deuter, the Democratic candidate for District 45 state representative.

On his website, Garcia said he would give a federal update on "key issues" in the district.

Garcia's news release about the town hall said members of the public and media can register starting at 6 p.m.

"The Congressman will be taking questions from the public, but we encourage attendees to register beforehand so they could pre-submit a question and so our team can take into account for spacing," spokeswoman Clarissa Roa said in an email to Patch.
