ELMHURST, IL – The man whose 4-year-long home renovation project in Elmhurst is upsetting neighbors appears to have another house in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Harry Hostetler's Wisconsin home is worth $3 million, according to Walworth County records. It's on the highly coveted Lake Geneva shoreline, in the area of the Lake Geneva Country Club.

Last year, he paid $32,414 in property taxes on the property.

Hostetler did not return calls for comment. A woman who is believed to be in charge of the project declined to comment Wednesday, saying she would pass along Patch's message to Hostetler.

Hostetler has been paying the city $100-a-day fines for more than a month because his building permit has expired, according to the city.

In an interview Tuesday, Mayor Scott Levin said the city would take an "aggressive stance" on the project, saying it has gone on too long.

"There are aspects of the project that have been completed, removed and redone," the mayor said. "Part of our message is that we have to get the project done before redoing things."

Hostetler's project was the subject of a number of Patch stories last year.

Hostetler has longtime ties to Elmhurst and is listed as serving on the board of the Elmhurst Art Museum.
