ELMHURST, IL – A "dangling" fence along Interstate 290 in Elmhurst could pose a danger to drivers on Lake Street frontage, an alderman warned Monday.

"The sound wall has been degrading for many a year," Alderman Michael Bram said at Monday's City Council meeting. "It's to the point where one section of the sound wall, because of the lack of maintenance, is literally dangling off 290 and could at any moment slide onto Lake Street frontage and injure severely, if not kill, someone."

He said he has been getting more and more emails and texts about the problem.
