"Today was a great day for the future of Education in Elmhurst. Although Dr. Fullan has been awarded the Order of Canada, we’d like to think he is more proud of the recognition he received today when we memorialized him as an Honorary Duke," Superintendent Dr. David Moyer said in a release. "Michael is truly brilliant, but he can make the most complex concepts intuitive and accessible. Our administrators and teacher leaders were engaged in serious reflective thought about our role in society and moral obligation to ensure that all students learn and grow. I was extremely happy to partner with other area districts who, likewise, are committed to this principle.”
